Dr. Barbara Anne McGrath believes that safety and education are important aspects of any procedure. She is thorough in educating her patients regarding the surgical procedure, risks involved, expected results and the follow up treatment required. She operates only in accredited surgical facilities.
Dr. Barbara Anne McGrath, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. McGrath has been practicing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery for over 20 years. After completing her residency in New York City she began her practice in New Jersey. Five years later, after marrying a Kansas man, she became the first female plastic surgeon to establish a practice in the Kansas City area. Dr. McGrath is one of a few women in the United States who has been certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
In addition to her medical duties she is developer and founder of Prairie Moon Products, LLC, a natural soap line. She has a daughter in college and in her spare time enjoys reading and singing opera.

The American Board of Plastic Surgery is the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery requires completion of a minimum of five years of residency after medical school (Dr. McGrath has seven years), several years of post residency practice, and passing comprehensive written and oral examinations.
